He is a graduate of the University of Southern California with degrees in Biology, Psychology and a minor with honors in Bioethics. He completed his osteopathic medical school training in Kansas City Missouri, where he graduated cum laude.
He then completed a transitional year of training at the Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. James Daniel Carpenter finished his three-year ophthalmology residency in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he had extensive dermato-cosmetic training as well.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Refractive Surgeons and the Christian Ophthalmology Society. He has numerous published peer review journals, abstracts, and a book review. His interests are golf, boxing, and surfing.
Dr. Carpenter has also served as a physician and surgeon on the USA Boxing Team traveling with the American boxers to many countries throughout the world.
